Proud tradition and dynamic future.
MidTown is home to the Muscogee County School District’s Public Education Center, eleven public schools,
and the Center for Gifted Education. In MidTown you will find the oldest continuously operating school in the
state—the original Wynnton Academy was established in 1837 and built in 1843—and the city’s newest
state-of-the-art school, George Washington Carver High School. Visit our MidTown schools here.
