Starting in 2019, MidTown, Inc., through its partners Ride on Bike, Jarfly, Bicycle Columbus and River Valley Regional Commission, host a Full Moon Bicycle Ride during a full moon in the Spring. We utilize this event to showcase the bike-ability of MidTown and allow participants to experience parks and historic neighborhoods via bicycles.
The MidTown GetDown is free concert at the bandshell at Lake Bottom Park in the heart of MidTown. This community concert was a result of conversations that took place amongst MidTown neighbors during the 2018 On-the-Table event.
In May 2019, the Lake Bottom bandshell was swarmed with bluegrass, funk and jazz sounds by local musician Jake Fussell and the Screaming J’s from Asheville, NC.
More information on the 2020 concert coming soon!
On a Tuesday in October, residents of Columbus and the surrounding areas are invited to be part of “On the Table.” This exciting initiative to a way to discuss not only what’s great about our community, but also ways to make it even better — more sustainable, just, safe, strong and vibrant. When we come together as a community to listen to and learn from each other, we have the power to impact neighborhoods, communities and lives. That’s what “On the Table” is all about. We’ll come together to talk, collaborate, and become more
MidTown, Inc. has been a proud partner of On The Table since 2017, hosting each year, several MidTown neighbors at Lake Bottom Park for lunch and conversation. On 2019, MidTown, Inc. hosted an open breakfast for businesses and neighbors at our offices on Wildwood Avenue. Furthermore, in a effort to connect and listen to our neighborhood’s specific needs, MidTown, Inc. hosted a lunch meeting at the Fluellen Recreation Center with Briarwood and Lindsay Creek Park/Boxwood Estates neighborhoods.
